S.O.T. - Let me start off by first thanking you for taking the time to talk with us today and to let you know that it is a complete honor to have you on Screams of Terror. Lets go ahead and get started, E.J., when and where were you born?
E.J. - I was born in 19(-* cough *-), in upstate New York
S.O.T. - Where do you live now?
E.J. - I live on a farm in Northern Ohio, with my lovely wife, and 7 cats.
S.O.T. - Do you think that the area that you were brought up in or live in now has effected or influence your music in any way? And if so, how?
E.J. - My songwriting was most effected by the 6 years I lived in Nevada. Much fodder for spooky songs out that way!
S.O.T. - What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
E.J. - Well, heck. It's sort of rockabillyish, but that doesn't really describe it. It's hard to put a name on it.
S.O.T. - Who are your major influences?
E.J. - Old 60's psychedelic garage rock, Unknown Hinson, Junior Brown, Southern Culture on the Skids, The Bottle Rockets, etc.
S.O.T. - Where have you performed?
E.J. - Detroit, Ann Arbor, Reno. I don't play out a lot these days. Too busy with the studio, my job, and my family
S.O.T. -What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
E.J. - I like playing any venue with folks that like to have a good time.
S.O.T. - Do you have any upcoming shows/tours?
E.J. - Working on some dates this coming summer. Right now I'm focused in on the new video, which is being shot in a few weeks.
S.O.T. - Who writes your songs?
E.J. - I write them. Aside from drums, I play all the instruments on my recordings too (for the most part)
S.O.T. - What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs?
E.J. - Zombies, ghouls, the West, death, hearses, and girls.
S.O.T. - Do you think these topics will change over time?
E.J. - I doubt it. The world has enough artist writing about pain, worries, politics, world issues, etc. Music, to me, is a B horror film. I want to laugh, I want to be excited about it.
S.O.T. - Whats your most requested song?
E.J. - Downstairs at the Funeral Home
S.O.T. - Hehehe, I believe it, that song is great! But to be honest with you the entire album is simply fantastic!
S.O.T. - How can fans gain access to your music, where is it sold?
E.J. - CD Baby has my 2003 release. My new album will be available at my website.
S.O.T. - Do you have a website with sample songs? Homepage? Myspace? Facebook? List them all!
S.O.T. - What’s your favorite song of any band/musician?
E.J. - Possibly "You're Gonna Miss Me" by the 13th Floor Elevators, but I love so damned many songs.
S.O.T. - Who’s your favorite band/musician?
E.J. - Mary Huff, bassist for one of my favorite bands...Southern Culture on the Skids
S.O.T. - It's been awhile since your last album, "Rhyolite" was released and we know that your getting ready to make a new video. Does this mean that there is an album on the horizon? Can you tell us a little about it?
E.J. - Yes. My new CD should be out this summer. It'll have a slew of uptempo monster/zombie songs, and some spaghetti western flavored instrumentals
S.O.T. - Your song and video, "Hearse Driver" simply rocks and is a song that will stand the test of time as far as I am concerned. How did you get the idea for the song?
E.J. - I worked as a hearse driver for a few years. I lived above a funeral home. There's a strange humor about it all.
Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!
S.O.T. - What aspect of making music excites you the most right now?
E.J. - New songs. Writing something new is always exciting.
S.O.T. - What aspect of making music least excites you?
E.J. - The business end. I'm glad I'm not trying to make a living playing live. The music business is a shallow money trench, where thieves and pimps run wild. There's also a negative side. I think Hunter Thompson said that.
S.O.T. - Do you do anything else besides being a musician/singer/songwriter? If so, let us know about it and feel free to advertise all you want!
E.J. - I own a commercial recording studio. ( www.happylandrecording.com/home/ ) I'm also in the road construction business. I work for one of the largest corporate monsters on the planet. They pay me well, and I gladly take their money. It's a means to an end.
S.O.T. - So, there has to be a horror aspect to your life, what’s your favorite horror flick?
E.J. - Dawn of the Dead (George Romero's 1979 film, not the remake). I've seen it an easy 100 times.
S.O.T. - For our single ladies out there, are you single? Married? Dating? Looking?
E.J. - Happily married to the most beautiful woman in the world.
S.O.T. - How can people contact you for bookings, fan club, autographs, etc?
E.J. - Fan club? Autographs? Awww come on. I'm accessable as can be. Email me. We'll talk.

S.O.T. - Is there anything else that you would like to add?
E.J. - Just a huge thank you for considering me as someone you'd want to ask questions of. It's an honor!
S.O.T. - E.J., it has been wonderful talking to you and I am sure that our readers agree. Perhaps we can talk again after the new album is released and see what’s next!
E.J. - Excellent. Thanks Barry. I'm at your service.
